Smiths Falls Little League provides children
the opportunity to develop the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork
and physical well-being through the game of Baseball. By adopting the Little
League virtues of character, courage and loyalty, our programs are designed to
develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.

All of our fields are closely located to one

Who can join?
Smiths Falls Little League is open to
boys and girls whose league age is 7 through 16. All Baseball divisions are
Co-Ed (Boys and Girls can play). To determine your child's Baseball League
Age, please, use Little League International's League

Little League is a Great League to join: Community - Allows your child to play
with their friends and neighbours from Smiths Falls.
§ Balanced Teams - the competitive teams,
A and higher, are all subject to an open draft selection process by the Team
Managers and overseen by the Player Agent. Why is this important? It helps to
ensure that all the league teams within a division are balanced and competitive.
The competition helps the kids strive to improve and it better ensures they
will have fun and learn throughout their baseball season.
§ Player Clinics - We offer Clinics for all
Smiths Falls Little League players.
What are the Residence Requirements
for Smiths Falls Little League?
Little League International requires all
children registering to reside or attend school within the League boundaries.
The Smiths Falls Little League Residential Boundary is the
entire City of Smiths Falls and surrounding area.
When are the Playing Seasons?
The main playing season is in Spring, usually
running from early May to late June. The opening ceremonies for the Spring
season usually take place on the first Saturday in May.
Summer season play is, also, available for
baseball divisions Rookie (coach pitch) and higher. Summer Ball games take
place between July and August, with 2 games per week Summer season is usually
in the form of co-play with teams from other local Little Leagues and is highly
recommended to help a child continue to develop and improve their playing

Which Division should I sign up
my child for?
Players are selected for Teams based on their
Age and/or Experience. Please, check our divisions and registration pages for
key details of the age ranges.
Can my child play on the same
team as their Friends?
You may submit "buddy requests" at
registration time. We will try to honor requests in the non-competitive
Divisions (i.e., Tee Ball, Rookie and Single-A), but we cannot make any
guarantees. For competitive divisions (i.e., AA and higher), requests are
challenging to honor because our goal in team formation is to have balance
among all the teams in these divisions.
Does my child need to Try Out?
Players who are League 8 or older are required
to try out so, that we can evaluate their current skills and balance the teams.
Player Evaluations / Try-Outs are held before the Spring Season. They will be
evaluated in fielding, throwing, catching flyballs and throws, and hitting.
How often do Teams Practice?
Practices are held at our various
locations and vary from team to team and division to division. Practices
usually begin about 1-2 weeks before the
season opens. They are usually held once or twice per week. This may
include practices held prior to games. The practice schedule may alter once the
How often do Teams Play?
For Spring, For all divisions, expect to
play 1-2 games per week overall. A game schedule will be issued
before the season starts.

Games are played at any of our local
parks which you can check out on our baseball Baseball Fields page.
What Uniform/Equipment does my
We provide your child with a team jersey.
Equipment that you will need to get for your
child will be a baseball glove, and a protective cup. A protective cup is
required for boys in all Divisions.
