How to Become an SFLL Umpire
Do you need volunteer hours? Are you retired, have free time to participate in your community?
We provide all the equipment and training you'll need to become a Little League baseball umpire.
Most of what you need to know is mentioned below. But if you require further details, please send an email to : President@sfll.ca
Who Can Be An Umpire?
Men, women, boys and girls 12 or over are eligible to be umpires. SFLL provides training and equipment.
This is a great way to earn some extra money and have fun doing it.
We are particularly in need of adult umpires (18+ years).
Umpires are eligible to ump one level below the division in which they would be eligible to play.
You will need a navy golf shirt with grey or navy blue pants.
All umpires must participate in a one-day introductory umpire training session prior to umping any games. SFLL will offer an introductory session before the start of the Spring season each year.
All umpires are eligible to be paid. In keeping with Little League's volunteer philosophy, adult umps are welcome to umpire as volunteers. In addition, high school students can elect to take volunteer hours rather than getting paid.
Umpires are paid a flat rate of $20 per game (for both the plate and bases) .
